Just after midnight on June 21, 2014, the Rancho Cordova Police Department patrol officers responded to the 10500 block of Peter A McCuen Boulevard in Rancho Cordova, in response to a reported stabbing. When officers arrived, they encountered several people attempting to give medical aid to a 20-year old black male victim. Medics from Sacramento Metro Fire Department arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
Sheriff homicide detectives responded to the scene and have determined the homicide was a result of an argument between two people known to each other that accelerated to violence. A 22-year old Hispanic male was detained at the scene by patrol officers and is currently being prepared to be booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for murder.
The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
