At approximately 8:10 PM on February 20, 2014, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Cornelia Way and Bruce Way in regards to a reported stabbing.
When Deputies arrived, they encountered a 33-year old male victim with multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. Deputies performed life-saving efforts on the victim until medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and determined the victim and suspect knew each other and were engaged in a verbal altercation when the assault occurred. The suspect is still outstanding and is described as a black male adult in his late 30’s, standing 5’9″ tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds.

The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, after notification has been made to his next of kin.
