4 Convicted of Murdering Man Walking Home from Casino

District Attorney Jan Scully recently announced that Jermaine Barnes, Fitima Goodman, Alexander Lewis and Laquwon Warr were convicted by jury for the first degree murder of Fernando Vichez with the special circumstance of committing a murder in the commission of a robbery.

The jury also convicted the defendants of second degree robbery and found true the allegation that Jermaine Barnes personally used a firearm and caused the death of Fernando Vichez.

Mr. Vichez was walking home from the Casino Royale when Lewis, Warr and Chelsea Washington, a former defendant in the case, panhandled him for money.

The trio then called Barnes and Goodman out to rob Mr. Vichez. During the course of the robbery, Barnes shot Mr. Vichez seven times, killing him.
