District Attorney Jan Scully announced that Felisha Blackmon, Aaron Bonner, Darryl Cartwright, Bonita Clayborn, David Ludd and Atlakea Scott all pled no contest to felony charges of insurance fraud and personal identification theft.
Between May 23, 2011 and May 24, 2012, the six defendants impersonated insurance policy holders and submitted approximately 1,000 fraudulent claims for automobile windshield chip repairs to numerous insurance companies. The insurance companies paid nearly $100,000 on these fraudulent claims.
The defendants face a potential sentence ranging from 3 years in state prison to 240 days in the county jail. Sentencing is set for August 6, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. in Department 8 in front of the Honorable Laurel White.
