Sacramento – On July 1, 2014, Agents of the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) posted a notice of suspension at Come-N-Go Food Store located at 4516 Freeport Boulevard in Sacramento.
The indefinite suspension is the result of an accusation filed by the Department alleging that the business sold alcoholic beverages to four minors on three separate occasions. In addition to the permanent suspension, the business owners will have six months to transfer his license to a new owner, or the license can be revoked by the Department.
This action is the result of an investigation conducted by ABC. On June 12, 2014 at 6:50 p.m., Agents issued a misdemeanor citation to the owner, Daniel Tung Sun, for selling alcoholic beverages to two 17 year old minors. Later that evening at 11:20 p.m., Agents arrested Sun again for selling alcoholic beverages to 16 year old minor. This time, Sun was transported and booked at the Sacramento County Jail. An additional charge for contributing to the delinquency of a minor was added to his misdemeanor charge for selling alcoholic beverages to a minor. The three minors in both incidents were also issued misdemeanor citations for purchasing the alcoholic beverages. In both transactions, identification was not requested or shown to the owner.
Two days later, on June 14, 2014, Agents issued another misdemeanor citation to the owner for selling alcoholic beverages to a 19 year old minor. The violation occurred at 11:15 p.m. The minor was also issued a misdemeanor citation for purchasing the alcoholic beverages. Again, identification was not requested or shown during the transaction.
The licensee has a disciplinary record with the Department which includes several accusations for sales to a minor, dating back to 1983. The most recent accusation for sales to a minor was filed in 2011. The business owner was issued his ABC license in 1982.
