This Saturday April 5, the American River Parkway Foundation will be holding its 2014 “Spring Clean Up” from 9 am to 12 noon.
This annual effort helps maintain the American River Parkway as a sustainable natural resource that all of us can enjoy. The staging areas for the clean-up include both Howe Avenue and Watt Avenue at La Riviera as well as Sunrise at South Bridge Street. To register to volunteer please visit the American River Parkway Foundation website.
Volunteering to help keep the Parkway clean is in keeping in the spirit of Creek Week April 4-12 and the Sacramento Area Creeks Council is planning a number of activities as we celebrate our urban creeks throughout the area.
The celebration concludes on Saturday, April 12, when volunteers join together in cleaning our local creeks. Afterwards those who helped will be rewarded with a picnic, environmental exhibits and interactive display along with live entertainment at the Creek Week Celebration at Carmichael Park. Please consider volunteering to help that day.
