Armed Robbery on Auburn Boulevard

Sheriff’s detectives are seeking to identify two suspects in a robbery that occurred earlier this week. On Monday, November 19, 2012 shortly after 4:00 p.m., a woman and a young man entered the Why Pay More Cigarette Store in the 5000 block of Auburn Boulevard, and committed an armed robbery.

The suspects entered the business and selected items of merchandise to purchase. Upon arriving at the counter with the items, the female suspect pulled a handgun from her bra, and demanded money from the employee. The clerk refused to open the cash register, which led to the female suspect hitting a low-hanging surveillance camera with the handgun, and threatening to shoot the clerk. The young male suspect then told the female suspect to shoot the clerk.

In response to this threat, the store clerk opened the cash register. The female suspect reached into the drawer and removed money. The male suspect fled with clothing items from the store, and the female left with money. The female suspect is described as a black woman between 28 and 32 years old, 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall and weighing approximately 165 pounds. She wore a gray suit jacket and gray dress suit shorts with black boots. The male suspect is black, believed to be 16 to 18 years old, between 5’7″ and 5’9″ tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He wore a black Chicago White Sox beanie and black clothing.
