Sutter Launches Classes for Cancer Patients and Survivors

Cancer patients and survivors are invited to expressive movement therapy classes, Mondays through April 28, 2014, from 6:30 – 8 p.m., or Tuesdays beginning Feb. 4  – April 29, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. – noon, at Sutter Center for Health Professions, 2700 Gateway Oaks Drive, Sacramento, CA 95833.

The free classes are taught by Nandi Szabo, M.A., ADTR, registered dance movement therapist and expressive arts therapist.

Expressive therapy focuses on healing through a creative lens. Based on the interrelationship of body, mind and emotion, it uses movement, art, writing and music to further the emotional, physical and spiritual integration of the individual.

This program will provide relaxation, stress reduction and insight to its participants. The goals of the program are to enhance wellness and explore how to navigate through the complex emotions and concerns of the cancer journey with a sense of empowerment.

Please call 916-529-1079 or e-mail to register.

This program is sponsored by the Sutter Cancer Center, Sacramento through funding from the Sutter Medical Center Foundation.
