Tickets on Sale for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Sacramento, Calif. —  Advance tickets for the second film in the highly anticipated series The Hunger Games based on the novels by Suzanne Collins are now on sale. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: The IMAX Experience opens 8 p.m. Nov. 21.

 The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: The IMAX Experience picks up as Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) returns home safely with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) after winning the annual Hunger Games. The two must embark on a “Victor’s Tour” of the District. During the tour Katniss senses a rebellion simmering, but President Snow and the Capitol are still very much in control as they prepare for the 75th annual Hunger Games (the Quarter Quell)- a competition that could change Panem forever.

 For those that would like to see how it all began the Esquire IMAX Theatre will be screening the first film The Hunger Games before the premiere on Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.

 The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: The IMAX Experience was partially filmed with IMAX cameras and has been digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience(r) with proprietary IMAX DMR(r) (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with the Esquire IMAX Theatre’s six stories high and 80 feet wide screen, customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie. 

The Esquire IMAX Theatre offers reserved seating for guests and movie-goers can also enjoy free parking at the Capitol Garage on 10th Street and L Street after 5 p.m. weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday with validation. Simply present the parking ticket at the Esquire IMAX Theatre box office. 

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: The IMAX Experience has a run time of 146 minutes and is rated PG-13.
