In light of the Sheriffs Departments current budget deficit, Sheriff John McGinness has announced the planned closure of two inmate housing facilities at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (RCCC): the Roger Bauman Facility and the Sandra Larson Womens Facility.
The male inmates from the Roger Bauman Facility will be moved to other inmate housing facilities at RCCC. The female inmates will be re-evaluated for participation in alternative sentencing programs which include the Sheriffs Work Release and Home Detention programs. Those female inmates who do not qualify for an alternative sentencing program will be transferred to the Sacramento County Main Jail to serve the remainder of their sentences.
All housing moves are scheduled to be completed by July 18, 2010. The relocation of both the male and female inmates will affect their visitation schedules. New inmate housing locations can be found on-line at the Sheriffs departments website at www.sacsheriff.com under Inmate Information.
