On Wednesday, July 14, 2010, Detectives with the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Team arrested eighty two year old Donald Warren Delaney for failure to register his change of address; failure to register on an annual basis; failure to register every 90 days, and failure to register when released from confinement.

Delaney has failed to register since 2005 and it is unknown how long he has been in Sacramento County. Witnesses at a local business had reported disturbing comments concerning children by Delaney and he was subsequently identified as a registered sex offender.

SAFE Team detectives would like to interview anyone who has contact with Delaney or knows of his movements since 2005. Delaney was discovered to be living in the 3400 block of Ponzi Court, Rancho Cordova.

Ponzi  is a White male, 509 tall, and weighs 170 pounds. He is balding with wispy short gray hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who knows the movements of Donald Warren Delaney, is urged to call the Sheriffs Department at (916) 874-5115, or the SAFE Team at (916) 874-4317.

The SAFE team is a multi-jurisdictional task force is comprised of members from the Sacramento County Sheriffs Department, the Sacramento Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Office. The team receives daily support from the Sacramento County Probation Department and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The SAFE team was created with grant funding from the California State Office of Emergency Services. SAFE detectives are assigned to supervise, monitor and arrest registered sex offenders who are out of compliance with their statutory requirements or who are in violation of their probation or parole status. SAFE team detectives initiate criminal investigations and conduct proactive surveillance operations in an effort to prevent sexual assaults and re-offenses by sex offenders.
