Detectives assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force are asking for help in finding 21-year-old Arturo Sanchez. Sanchez has an active federal arrest warrant for possession of child pornography and is believed to be hiding in either the Sacramento, or San Francisco Bay areas.

Investigators identified Sanchez as someone who was offering child pornography over the internet. Subsequently, a search warrant was served on his residence and several items of evidence were seized including: his computer, removable media, and compact disks. A forensic examination of those items was conducted and images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual activity were found. Sanchez was later indicted by the Federal Grand Jury and an arrest warrant was issued. When detectives went to his residence to arrest him, they learned he had moved out.

Sanchez (see photo below) is a 21-year-old Hispanic male. Hes 58 tall and weighs 120 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Arturo Sanchez is urged to call the Sacramento County Sheriffs Department at (916) 874-5115, or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP. Tipsters may also send a text message tip by texting to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

Founded in 1998, the Internet Crimes Against Children task force is comprised of federal, state and local law enforcement investigators and managed by the Sacramento County Sheriffs Department. It was formed to help state and local law enforcement agencies develop an effective response to online enticement and child pornography cases. The task force encompasses forensic and investigative components, training and technical assistance components, victim services, and community education.
