Murder Suspects Arrested Upon Turning Themselves In
Three individuals believed to be responsible for the shooting death of a three year-old boy last week were taken into custody earlier this evening. Gabriel Quintero, 20, Eric Minjares, 17, and Marcus Weber, 16, turned themselves in to Sheriff's Department personnel. Quintero was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, while Minjares and Weber were booked into Sacramento County juvenile hall. All three suspects were booked on a charge of murder.
On the evening of July 4, 2012, three year-old Jorge Azios was shot and killed while riding in a vehicle with his father at the intersection of Loucreta Drive and Palmer House Drive in south Sacramento. Investigators believe that Quintero, Minjares and Weber were in another vehicle, confronted Azios' father in the vehicle he was driving, and fired multiple gunshots into the vehicle, killing the young victim.
Although all the suspects believed to be responsible for this crime are now in custody, investigation into this incident continues. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (916) 874-5115 with any pertinent information.
