23 Year Old Motorcyclist Killed in Accident

On July 12, 2012, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Brennon Schild-Wachter, a 22 year old male from Sacramento, was driving a black 2009 Dodge Charger on northbound Howe Avenue at Wyda Way.

His vehicle was stopped in the left hand turn lane preparing to make a U-turn.  He began to make his U-turn when traffic was clear on southbound Howe Avenue.  As he did so, there was insufficient room for him to complete his U-turn and he stopped his vehicle facing in a south-west direction in the #2 lane of southbound Howe Avenue.  Lijin Xu, a 23 year old male from Sacramento, was riding a black 2002 Suzuki GSX motorcycle on southbound Howe Avenue in the #2 lane approaching Wyda Way.  Xu failed to see the Charger stopped within the intersection and due to his speed he was unable to stop his motorcycle before striking the rear of the Charger.  Lujin sustained fatal injuries at the scene.  Schild-Wachter and his 30 year old female passenger were not injured in this collision.

Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a contributing factor.
