Motorcyclist Killed in Carmichael
On July 27, 2012, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Alva Haught, a 54 year old male from Carmichael, was riding a 1989 Honda Elite motorcycle on eastbound Fair Oaks Boulevard just east of Nicklaus Place.
For unknown reasons, the motorcycle drifted to the right and traveled off of the road and struck a wood fence. After striking the fence, the rider then struck a telephone pole. Haught was transported to Mercy San Juan Hospital where he died from his injuries. Haughty was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs is a contributing factor in this collision pending a toxicology report.
