South Sac Party Ends in Deadly Shooting
Sheriff's Homicide detectives are investigating events that led to two men being shot outside of a house party in south Sacramento County. One man died at the scene and another was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 2:45 a.m. today, Sheriff's deputies responded to the 7600 block of Daya Way, regarding reports of multiple shots having been fired. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies located two gunshot victims. A 39 year-old male was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Several houses away, a 19 year-old male was found lying on the sidewalk. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Several dozen people were detained at the scene - some partygoers inside the house, and others who were outside tending to the victims. Preliminary interviews yielded no information regarding any suspect(s) or vehicle(s) associated with the shootings. A motive for this incident has not been determined, and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.

Identification of the deceased victim in this case will be made by the Sacramento County Coroner's office, after notification has been made to his next of kin.
