First Degree Murder with Special Circumstance Conviction
District Attorney Jan Scully announced recently that Ricardo Lynn Hall was convicted by jury of first degree murder for the 2010 killing of Matthew Maurizzio. The jury also found true the special circumstance that the murder occurred during the commission of an attempted robbery.
On January 23, 2010, Sacramento police officers responded to a shooting in the area of Dixieanne Avenue and Cambridge Street. Upon arrival, they found Matthew Maurizzio dead at the scene in the front yard of a nearby residence.
Hall faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Sentencing is set for November 9, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in Department 41 before the Honorable Roland Candee.
