Man Found Dead Inside Home
Sheriff's Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a man found dead inside his home this week in a rural area of Sacramento County. The victim, a sixty year-old male, was discovered inside his residence by an acquaintance who arrived at the house. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on October 27th, Sheriff's deputies responded to a property located at Dillard Road and Highway 99 in response to the call of a man found dead. Upon arrival, a man and woman at the scene advised deputies that they had found the victim, an acquaintance of theirs, when they arrived at the home. Deputies entered the residence and located the victim, who had significant trauma to his upper body. Paramedics responding to the scene declared the victim deceased.
The man and woman at the scene were detained for questioning, but neither is considered a suspect at this time. Detectives have not established a motive for this incident, and anyone having information pertinent to the investigation is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at (916) 874-5115, Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or send a text message tip to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
The name of the victim in this case will be released once notification has been made to his next of kin.
