Video of Shooting Suspects Released

Sheriff's detectives are seeking the public's assistance to identify three men wanted in connection with a shooting in south Sacramento County earlier this month. The incident took place in the parking lot of a busy shopping area, and detectives hope that the individuals depicted in surveillance video will be recognized by members of the community.

On December 10, 2012, Sheriff's deputies responded to the ShopSmart in the 7600 block of Stockton Boulevard regarding gunshots fired. Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. An 11-month old girl seated in the backseat of the car was nearly hit by the gunshots, and sustained minor injuries from glass that was shattered from the car windows during the shooting.

Investigation revealed that three individuals who had been at the shopping plaza (pictured in the attached video) had a brief altercation with male occupants of the vehicle where the baby girl was seated. The encounter culminated with one of the male suspects producing a handgun and firing nearly a dozen gunshots at the vehicle, narrowly missing several people, before fleeing the scene.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males, and one Hispanic or Asian male. They are believed to be in their early to mid-20s, ranging between 5'6" to 5'10" tall, and weighing between 150-190 pounds. They fled in a gold, Dodge or Chrysler mini-van.

Anyone knowing the identity of any of the individuals depicted in this video is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at (916) 874-5115. Tips may also be left at www.sacsheriff.com, by texting to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering the keyword SSD, or at (916) 874-TIPS (8477).
