Attempted Murder Conviction in Shooting
District Attorney Jan Scully announced that Lawrence Jackio was convicted by jury of multiple charges, including attempted murder, attempted robbery, and gun use allegations.
On June 16, 2011, Jackio and an accomplice broke into an occupied residence and attempted to rob two homeowners at gunpoint. One victim was pistol whipped and Jackio shot the other victim in the stomach, causing serious injuries. At the time of the crime, Jackio was on parole for a residential burglary conviction.
Jackio faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison. Sentencing is set for March 1, 2013 in Department 33 before the Honorable Judge Michael Savage.
