1 Killed, 2 Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on Power Line

On February 16, 2013 at approximately 8:10 p.m , Joshua Hanson, a 37 year old from Sacramento was driving a black 2005 Toyota Tacoma on Garden Highway approximately one mile west of Power Line Road at a high rate of speed.  As the vehicle approached a curve in the roadway, Hanson was unable to negotiate the turn causing the Toyota to veer off the roadway.  The Toyota traveled down a grassy embankment, striking several metal gate posts before overturning several times.  The Toyota then struck a tree and came to rest on its passenger side.  The driver sustained major injuries and was transported to UC Davis Medical Hospital where he died from blunt force trauma.

The right front passenger, Laura Osborn, a 35 year old from Sacramento, and Lou Bellotti, a 29 year old who is the roommate of Hanson, was transported to Mercy San Juan Medial Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.  Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in this collision.
