Machine Guns and Child Porn Arrest in Gold River
A Gold River man is in custody after detectives seized a dozen machine guns from his residence last night. Jack Holsey, 47, was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail earlier this morning, and is being held on $75,000 bail.
Yesterday evening, detectives from the Sheriff's IMPACT Division served a search warrant at Holsey's residence in the 2300 block of Gold River Road. Detectives had been conducting an investigation based on information that suggested Holsey was in possession of numerous illegal weapons.
During the search, investigators also found drugs and other contraband which, along with the firearms, were seized pursuant to service of the warrant. Holsey was booked on charges that include unlawful possession of an assault weapon, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, and possession of child pornography.
The Sheriff's IMPACT Division consists of Sheriff's Department personnel, along with members of eight other local, state, and federal agencies. The division was formed at the beginning of 2012, and is tasked with reducing the amount of youth and gang violence, and removing unlawful firearms from the hands of people in communities throughout the Sacramento region.
