Counterfeit Goods Seized by Task Force

This past weekend, the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force conducted an enforcement operation into the trafficking of counterfeit goods. Personnel from several local, state and federal agencies served search warrants in Yuba County and San Jose, resulting in the arrests of ten individuals involved in this criminal enterprise.

In addition to the arrests, the task force seized approximately 50,000 counterfeit CDs, 30,000 counterfeit DVDs, and nearly $26,000 in cash believed to be a portion of the profits from the counterfeit operation.

The Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force is a multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional task force that investigates high technology crimes, identity theft crimes, intellectual property theft and on-line crimes perpetrated against children. They also conduct computer forensics examinations, provide training for law enforcement and offer community outreach/awareness presentations.
