57 Years to Life for Convicted Murderer

District Attorney Jan Scully announced that the Honorable Russell Hom sentenced Robert Thompson to 57 years to life in prison. Thompson was convicted by jury for the first degree murder of 43-year-old Sharion King and for personally using a knife in the commission of the offense. The Court also found true an alleged prison prior and a prior robbery strike conviction from 2001.

On February 14, 2012, a fire was extinguished in the southeast portion of Discovery Park near the bike trail. The badly burned body of Sharion King was discovered. She was killed by a single stab wound to the heart and her body was saturated in gasoline and set on fire.
