Sacramento Streetcar Line Open House
The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG), in partnership with the Cities of Sacramento and West Sacramento, is hosting two open house meetings to share information and gather opinions from the public about the Downtown Riverfront Streetcar project.
The open house meetings will be held on September 18th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the SACOG Board Room, 1415 L Street, Sacramento and on September 19th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the Civic Center Galleria, 1110 West Capitol Ave.
"The Downtown Riverfront Streetcar starts with a 3.3-mile initial line that extends from the West Sacramento Civic Center to the midtown entertainment and retail district through Downtown Sacramento," said Kirk Trost, SACOG Chief Operating Officer/General Counsel and Streetcar Project Manager. "The initial line is part of an overall streetcar system will connect employees, residents, and tourists with jobs, shops, restaurants, and entertainment in both cities."
The project is being developed through a partnership between the Cities of Sacramento and West Sacramento, Caltrans, SACOG, Sacramento Regional Transit District, and the Yolo County Transportation District.
An environmental analysis of the initial Streetcar route is currently underway.
The open house meetings will include information stations with alignment and background information. City staff and members of the project team will be available to answer questions and discuss ideas in an informal format. The public is encouraged to drop by at their convenience between 4:00 and 6:00 pm, a brief presentation will begin at 5:00 pm.
