Teens Arrested in Gas Station Murder on El Camino Avenue
Last night, Sacramento Sheriff's Department Homicide Detectives arrested Gilberto Esteban Cardona, 18, and a male juvenile for PC 187/Homicide in connection with the murder of 33 year old Jesus Antonio MACIAS last Saturday (September 28, 2013). Information regarding the details of the incident are continuing to be investigated by Detectives.
Sheriff's Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting that claimed the life of a man late yesterday evening. At approximately 11:30 p.m. last night, deputies were near El Camino Avenue and Howe Avenue when they responded to a call of shots fired at a gas station in the 2100 block of El Camino Avenue.
Deputies responded to the scene and upon their arrival, observed a man in his 30's lying on the ground outside the store. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body and was unresponsive. Deputies attempted life-saving measures on the victim, but he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased by Fire Department personnel who arrived at the scene.
