According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease and cancer once again rank at the top of the list for causes of death in America.

The top five causes of death account for 62% of all deaths in America. Unintentional injuries due to accidents is the 5th leading cause of death in America.

Death Rate by State
Hawaii has the lowest age-adjusted death rate and Mississippi has the highest age-edjusted death rate. In general, the Southeastern United States has the highest death rate in the United States.

Life Expectancy
Hispanic females have the highest life expectancy in the U.S at 83.7 years.
Black males have the lowest life expectancy in the U.S at 71.6 years.
