Scott Moak Joins Sacramento Kings Foundation
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento Kings named Scott Moak the Vice President of Community Impact and Executive Director of the Sacramento Kings Foundation. Moak will be joining the Kings on a full time basis later this month.
Moak, who has served as the team's public address announcer since 2002, will guide the organization's efforts in its mission to impact positive change in the community, one of the key vectors of owner Vivek Ranadive's NBA 3.0 initiative. Moak will lead the newly named Community Impact department, which will spearhead the team's philanthropy on a local, national and international level. Additionally, Moak will direct the Sacramento Kings Foundation with the charge of building on the organization's deep relationships and affecting positive change across the community. He will also continue in his role as the team's public address announcer.
"To say this new role is a dream job for me would be the understatement of the century," Moak said. "I am thrilled to help Vivek and our ownership group create a world-class community foundation using technology, philanthropy and innovation to make deep impacts locally, across the region and around the world.
"I grew up with the Kings and now I'm stepping into a role that combines all my favorite things: the Kings, the Sacramento community, and making broad impacts in people's lives."
Moak joins the Kings on a full time basis after spending the last three years as the Director of Nonprofit Services at 3fold Communications, a Sacramento regional marketing firm. In his time at 3fold, Moak was involved in creating the strategy, developing tactics and overseeing services to both nonprofit and for-profit businesses.
"As a long time employee with deep roots in the not-for-profit sector and with deep care for this community, Scott is the perfect fit for this role," said Chris Granger, Kings President and COO. "Scott is another example of our commitment to hire the best and the brightest, in our region and beyond, to lead us into a new era for the Kings."
