Sacramento Kings Senior Leadership Additions

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento Kings are pleased to announce three significant senior leadership additions to the organization. Ben Gumpert will serve as senior vice president of marketing and strategy, Erica Rau as vice president of marketing and Laura Braden as senior director of communications.                  

Ben Gumpert joins the Kings as senior vice president of marketing and strategy. A native of Sacramento, Gumpert will provide leadership, strategy and direction for marketing, CRM & analytics, digital media, broadcasting, communications and community relations. Prior, Gumpert spent five years with the National Basketball Association (NBA) as vice president in their Team Marketing and Business Operations group (TMBO). Prior to the NBA, he was a consultant at Bain & Company in their Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco offices. Gumpert also worked for the San Francisco Giants in consumer marketing while completing his MBA at Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

 With over 15 years of experience, Erica Rau has been named vice president of marketing. Rau will establish and execute new marketing campaigns and drive brand awareness, ticket sales and community engagement for the Kings. Prior, Rau served as a brand engagement consultant in 2013, and she served at The Glass Agency as vice president and director of brand engagement from 2004-2013. Rau previously worked for the Sacramento Kings as director of event presentation of business operations from 2001-2004.

 With over 11 years of experience, Laura Braden has been named senior director of communications. A self-proclaimed "adopted Sacramentan since 2006," Braden will manage and execute strategic communications and media relations for the Kings business operations. Prior, she owned Braden Strategies, LLC from 2010-2014, a public affairs firm specializing in public relations, social media and events management. Braden served as vice president of Mercury Public Affairs from 2008-2011 and deputy communications director for the Office of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger from 2006-2008.
