Fire Chief Arrested for Girlfriend's Murder

At approximately 12:00PM today (May 16, 2014), Orville "Moe" Fleming, 55, wanted for the May 1st murder of his girlfriend Sarah Douglas, was captured by Sacramento County Sheriff's Detectives in south Sacramento County.

Fleming was spotted by a Detective from the Sheriff's Fugitive Bureau exiting a bus and was contacted and detained without incident.  Since his apprehension, Detectives have determined Fleming has most likely been living in local vegetation for the past fifteen (15) days since the murder; leaving occasionally during the night to seek food and water.  Detectives do not believe Fleming reached out for or received assistance during the time he was considered a fugitive.

Fleming spoke with Homicide Detectives and has claimed responsibility for the assault on Sarah that led to her death.  Fleming was subsequently booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a no-bail warrant for murder.
