26 Year Old Orangevale Man Sentenced in Child Porn Case




SACRAMENTO, CA- Anthony Nail, 26, of Orangevale, was sentenced on Friday by United States District Judge Garland E. Burrell Jr. to five years and 10 months in prison for receipt and distribution of child pornography, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.

According to court documents, between December 2011 and April 2012, Nail used a file sharing program to download and share child pornography over the Internet. Nail has been in custody since he pleaded guilty on March 21, 2014.

This case was the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Matthew G. Morris prosecuted the case.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorneys' Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute those who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
